How A Vehicle’s TPMS Works
The vehicle’s Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is an electronic system equipped with sensors typically as part of the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) or tire valve stems. These sensors infer/monitor the air pressure of each tire for overinflation or underinflation. If the system registers significant tire pressure changes, a light will illuminate on your dashboard showing a symbol of a flat tire with an exclamation mark at the center. The trigger could also be a busted tire valve stem that needs replacement or a puncture that must be repaired.
What We Do During a TPMS Service
At Jiffy Lube, trained technicians will inspect, reset, and service your TPMS. They will also check your tire pressure and adjust it, if needed, based on your vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations. After examining your tires, the technician will explain any concerns and present options on how to resolve it.
